2 Summers full of Weddings - 2008 - Part III

Another one of the 2008 Summer Weddings was for Tom Howard and Raychel Engram. The wedding was at the home of Marty and Lisa Howard in Dothan, Alabama. The summer of 2008 was the summer of dealing with the WEATHER. The wedding was to start at 5:00 p.m. At about 10 minutes until, the storm of all storms came up and dumped the mother load of rain right on Dothan, Alabama. As mother nature gave us 10 seconds of a sprinkle to get all the table clothes and flower arrangements in, I realized that there were some things I couldn't get to and save. The arrangement below was the main one. As luck would have it, it got blown off of this column and sunk to the bottom of the pool. I cannot tell you how sick it makes you to stand there and watch everything you have worked on for hours, or days, to be ruined, blown away or sink, literally. I could go on and on, but after a torrential down pour, the rain completely stopped, we dried everything off, RE-setup, and sent someone in the pool to retrieve the
arrangement which, by the way, came back up EXACTLY like I made it.
You couldn't even tell anything had happened. "Ain't" God Good?

Inside Lisa and Marty's house. All of Raychel's flowers were white and green. Green and white hydrangeas, green cymbidium orchids, bells of ireland, white roses, green fugis and green hypericum berries.

You would never know we had been drowned a matter of minutes before this picture. After all of the insanity was over, it turned out to be a beautiful wedding, and luckily a little cooler thanks to the rain!

Tom and Raychel and the wedding party. Heaven knows you can't predict the weather for an outside wedding. You make the best of it and always hope you don't need plan B. However, all weather jokes aside, we were proud to have the opportunity to decorate for this wedding in such a beautiful setting.
